Usage Tips:

  • Use Wintergreen to provide a soothing massage to the skin
  • Add one drop of Wintergreen oil to a warm bath
  • Add to a spray bottle with water or diffuse for a minty, natural room freshener
  • For an at-home spa experience, fill a large bowl with steaming water, add one drop of Wintergreen and any other oils you want to include, then cover your head with a towel and place your face above the steaming bowl.

What Is Wintergreen Oil Used For?

Wintergreen oil is known for its unique warming effect on the skin due to methyl salicylate, which is the main chemical constituent of Wintergreen oil. This is what Wintergreen is most commonly used for, but its aroma also offers great benefits. Its strong scent creates a stimulating environment and helps clear out unpleasant odors.

How to Use Wintergreen Oil

You can use Wintergreen oil both topically and aromatically. Wintergreen’s topical benefits are powerful and effective, so it is important to remember to dilute and that a little oil goes a long way, especially with Wintergreen.

One of the best ways to use Wintergreen is in a massage. Massage it into your muscles after exercise, massage it into your skin after a cold winter’s walk, or massage it into your back and shoulders after a long workday. Massaging the oil provides a soothing and warming sensation that is impressive and can be powerful. When using topically, always dilute Wintergreen with Fractionated Coconut Oil or another carrier oil to minimize any skin sensitivity.

Diffuse Wintergreen to use it aromatically as a room freshener. You can also create a natural DIY room spray by adding a few drops of Wintergreen (and any other oils you want to include) in a spray bottle with water.

What Does Wintergreen Oil Smell Like?

Sweet, minty, and strong, the aroma of Wintergreen is potent and refreshing. Wintergreen smells similar to Spearmint and Birch.
